Tight end catches two touchdowns

Ben Chappell and the Indiana offense went back to work, scoring two touchdowns to take a 14-3 lead against Akron at the end of the first quarter.

Chappell, who earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday, connected with tight end Ted Bolser for both scores.

The first, a 10-yard play, gave the Hoosiers a 7-0 lead with 12:32 to go in the quarter.

Akron's Igor Iveljic made a 45-yard field goal to cut the lead to 7-3 with 8:21 to go.

Bolser caught his second touchdown in IU's next possession. The 8-yard touchdown with 4:56 to go was his fourth of the season.

That's the most in a season for an Indiana tight end since 1979 when Bob Stephenson had four on the year.

Chappell completed 7 of 10 passes for 85 yards in the quarter.
