Brenly comes to his senses

... which is to say, the Cubs broadcaster (and former Diamondbacks manager) has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Cubs managerial job.

That makes him the second candidate who's fled from this most thankless of jobs, the first being former Marlins skipper Fred Gonzalez. That leaves only Ryne Sandberg and local favorite Eric Wedge as applicants who've actually interviewed for the job.

I would say I hope Wedgie gets the job. But it is the Cubs.
