I expected some serious changes in my life when I married my husband Ehren nearly four years ago. What I didn’t expect is that he would steal one of my cats.
Keyser has been my partner since 1996. She has generally tolerated other people (probably because we lived on our own together in her formative years) but has always clung to me.
We still have our routines, like when she waits for me at the top of the stairs each morning while I get ready, or when she sits on the side of the bathtub and plays with the water.
But Keyser is essentially Ehren’s cat now. When he comes home from work she bounds to the front door (and Keyser doesn’t usually bound) and then immediately falls on the floor in front of his feet for petting.
He obliges, of course.
Keyser also curls up with him on the couch regularly (definitely more regularly than with me) and she purrs so loud when he talks to her and pets her.
Ehren even made her a ramp to get into the bed, which further swayed Keyser to his side.
I’m a little jealous but ultimately I’m just glad my hubby loves Keyser as much as I do.
Now let’s see what he can do to win over Alibi.
