Injury update

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said the Irish are in a better position in regards to injuries this week than they were last week.

Kelly said running back Jonas Gray, who suffered a groin injury against Stanford, is the only player who is questionable for Saturday's road game against Boston College.

Gray was replaced by Robert Hughes as the No. 2 running back on the depth chart, and on Sunday Kelly said Gray would be held out of Tuesday's practice.

Notre Dame is also expecting a decision on the future of center Dan Wenger next week, Kelly said.

Wenger suffered two concussions during preseason camp and hasn't played this season.

"We are trying to gain more information on the head injury," Kelly said of Wenger. "He wants to play. He wants to play again.

"We are looking and reaching out. Our team of physicians have done a great job of getting with others who are experts in this field, and I believe that is going to take place here sometime in the next week. Hopefully, we will have the decision on whether he going to play or is going to be shut down."
