He's not telling

Boston College coach Frank Spaziani is going to keep his starting quarterback for Saturday's game against Notre Dame to himself to the bitter end.

Spaziani decided to replace starter Dave Shinskie after last weekend's shutout lose to Virginia Tech, and freshman Chase Rettig and sophomore Mike Marscovetra have competed for the starting job this week.

On Tuesday, the Boston Globe cited an unnamed source saying Rettig won the starting job, but Spaziani debunked the report Wednesday during a teleconference.

And he was sharing anything more Thursday.

"We will have to determine soon (who will start)," Spaziani said, according to the Associated Press.

Players have said that Rettig has been taking most of the snaps in practice this week, the AP report said.
