Northwestern has won 27 of its last 34 games decided by seven points or fewer.
Let's see if Purdue can keep it that close Saturday.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Rob Henry is expected to make his first start for the Boilermakers in place of injured Robert Marve, and it'll come on the road in Evanston, Ill.
The Wildcats have a junior under center, Dan Persa. He's helped Northwestern to a 5-0 start and a victory in its first conference game last week at Minnesota.
Persa threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 99 yards as the Wildcats capped a fourth-quarter comeback for a 29-28 victory.
- In his first year as a starter, Persa has impressed with his passing and rushing ability. But coach Pat Fitzgerald would like to keep that quiet.
- Even more praise for Persa here from ESPN.com Big Ten blogger Adam Rittenberg.
- The Wildcats sneaked into the coaches' poll this week at No. 25. It's the first time they've been ranked since Dec. 7, 2008.
