The following determinations have been made by the Central Hockey League's Board of Governors:
- There will be a new tiebreaking procedure this season, particularly relevant since 16 teams -- 16 of 18!! -- will make the postseason. The first tiebreaker will be victories, but they will exclude wins via shootouts. The second tiebreaker will be head-to-head records.
- The CHL will now enforce a major penalty and a game misconduct for a lateral or blindside hit to an opponent where the head is targeted or the principal point of contact.
- They will scrape the ice prior to overtime shootouts now.
We'll just have to wait and see.
