Another opportunity to make scarves

The 2011 Special Olympics USA Scarf Project has announced the Red Heart Super Saver colors for scarves to give to Special Olympics athletes next year.

In 2009 at the World Winter Games, the response by knitters and crocheters to this project was overwhelming and scarves were distributed to athletes, family members and fans, according to the group's Facebook page.

The colors chosen for this year are Red Heart Yarns 886-Blue and 512-Turqua.

Further details about which states are accepting scarves for the 2011 games will be posted at the 2011 Special Olympics USA Scarf Project at a later date.

So, while you may not know yet where to send your scarves, you can at least get started on them with the right colors.

Don't forget the patterns for crochet and knit scarves we here at Crafty Living published in August.
