Komets form pact with Blue Jackets

The Komets announced an affiliation with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL today.

What this means in the immediate future,a ccording to Komets general manager David Franke, is that the team can expect players from Columbus’ AHL affiliate, Springfield, showing up in Fort Wayne “before our opening night”

On the flip side, there will also be callups to Springfield as the season progresses.

This, according toFranke “should be of interest to our younger developing players.”

Which might or might not mean more player movement this season than in the past – a consqeuence, perhaps, of playing in a league that has more of a developmental makeup to it than the old IHL.
