Namely, what do we do with No. 1 Alabama now that the Crimson Tide has been beached?
Well, we now have the answer, and it's the right one: The Crimson Tide has fallen to No. 8 in the wake of its 35-21 loss to South Carolina yesterday, behind both unbeaten (and largely untried) Boise State and TCU?
Despite the fact some people were debating whether that should happen, I really don't see how it couldn't have.
Look, if 'Bama had lost to No. 19 South Carolina on a last-second field goal, that would be one thing. But the Tide got housed, pretty much from gun to gun, by a team 18 places below it. A two-touchdown loss isn't a fluke, it's a certified butt-kicking.
Boise State, meanwhile, won by 43 over a team (Toledo) that had beaten a Big Ten school (Purdue). And TCU hammered Wyoming 45-0. But you're not going to jump them over Alabama?
Sorry. This one was a no-brainer.
