SAC tourney altering format

The SAC boys and girls basketball tournament will again be at Wayne High School, but with one fewer team after the spring closing of Elmhurst.

The 18-team (boys and girls) tournament will run Dec. 28-30 and the format change looks to be having one fewer play-in game on the first day of the tournament.

Wayne athletic director Steve Townsend (who was at Elmhurst last year) said the final format will be figured out soon.

The SAC tournament has been at Wayne the last three years.
