That's all I have upon hearing the news that David Pearson leads the second Hall of Fame class for the sport.
My quibble is he should have been in the first class, seeing as how he's the best driver in the sport's history and all.
Some people, mostly the Johnny-come-latelies who thinks NASCAR began with Dale Earnhardt, will no doubt dispute that. But some things you just know. One of them is that red meat tastes better grilled over charcoal, and another is that the Silver Fox was the best ever at wheeling a stock car.
After all, the man won 105 races, and no one but Richard Petty's ever done that. And unlike Petty and most of the rest of the sport's icons, he never came close to running a full season, opting to pick and choose his spots.
So he was the best. And now he's where he belongs.
