For crafters, it's about time to get serious about a handmade holiday season. Last year, I tried to give mostly handmade goods and really enjoyed when the recipients liked their gifts. This bracelet and necklace were made for a friend to give her sister, because she also wanted to do a handmade Christmas.

Speaking of a handmade Christmas, we're looking for you if you've ever done a handmade holiday in the past. An upcoming column will highlight how you've been creative for the holidays. Drop us a line at craftyliving@jg.net or call 461-8364.

The hardest part is photographing the dark navy yarn.

To take over from my series of Wash/Dish/Anycloth patterns, I'm going to publish a series of cabled panels that come together to make an afghan. This is also my first foray into charting knitting patterns.
