Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd was more involved in practice Thursday than at any time this week as the Irish (4-3) prepare to play Navy (4-2) on Saturday.
Floyd is dealing with a hamstring injury and will be a game-time decision.
He looked really good. He said he felt good, coach Brian Kelly told reporters.
Kelly said it was discovered that safety Jamoris Slaughter had a bone bruise on his heel and not just a sprained ankle.
Slaughter dropped from starter to backup after being slowed by the injury.
For the first time since the Purdue game, we are all mentally feeling a little bit better that we could be going in the right direction, Kelly said.
Kelly said Taylor Dever, who is returning from a hamstring injury after missing two games, will share time at right tackle with Matt Romine on Saturday.
