Komets still searching for win

The Komets picked up their first point of the season Friday night, but they are still looking for their first victory in the CHL.

The Komets fell 2-1 in overtime to the Arizona Sundogs in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Fort Wayne (0-1-1) remained out west Saturday night for a second game against Arizona. For the result of that game, go to

On Friday night, Komets forward Derek Patrosso opened the scoring 18 minutes into the game.

The Sundogs (2-1-0) tied the game 38 seconds into the second period with a goal from forward Mark Kolanos.

Kolanos capped the night with his second goal 1:44 seconds into overtime.

Komets goalie Kevin Reiter stopped 31 of 33 shots, and Arizona goalie Doug Groenestege turned away 28 of 29 shots.
