Crist our for season

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly confirmed that quarterback Dayne Crist is out for season with a knee injury.

During his Sunday teleconference, Kelly said Crist had surgery in the morning to reattach the torn patellar tendon in his left knee.

Crist suffered the injury at the end of a 29-yard run in the opening quarter against Tulsa on Saturday.

Kelly said Crist's recovery will take six months.
