Nearly 45 minutes before tipoff, and the Paint Crew is quickly filling up with students to watch Purdue play for the first time in 2010-11.
There will be a lot of interesting things to watch tonight.
Travis Carroll, Sandi Marcius, Terone Johnson and Anthony Johnson make their Purdue debuts and will be counted on to provide some quality minutes.
Will be fun to see how coach Matt Painter utilizes the freshmen, especially the post players with Robbie Hummel on the sidelines (looking sharp in slacks and a tie).
The better Carroll and Marcius play, the more likely it is that center JaJuan Johnson can play more power forward and Purdue can go "big" with a pair of 6-foot-9 or taller players on the court together.
Last season without Hummel, Painter typically played undersized 6-5 D.J. Byrd at the power forward spot. It's likely Byrd still will play some there this season and possibly 6-5 guard Kelsey Barlow will find his way into another position.
But, for now, let's just watch these young posts and see how they develop.
