So Charlie Villanueva of the Pistons claims Kevin Garnett called him a "cancer patient" the other night, a charge Garnett unconvincingly denies.
Thought the First: Garnett might as well have slapped a baby and taken his candy. Using "cancer patient" as a slur is every bit that low.
Thought the Second: Plus, as trash talk goes, it's weak.
I mean, really. "Cancer patient"? What is that, KG? Besides hugely inappropriate, that is?
Everybody says Garnett has a rep for trash-talking, but judging from this, it's a rep that's grotesquely overblown. And so, as a public service (the Blob is way big on public services), here are a few suggestions to help KG actually become a viable trash-talker:
"Why, Charlie. I didn't realize you were on the floor."
"Who taught you to post up? Gumby?"
"Boston Harbor is that way. I assume that's where you were aiming that shot."
"But keep shooting. My rebound numbers could use some plumping up."
