Never thought I'd say this, but a little while ago I saw the best trip to Fist City I've seen in NASCAR since the legendary Cale Yarborough vs. the Allisons dustup at Daytona 30 years ago.
And it involved ... wait for it ... Jeff Gordon.
Yes, that's right. Sponsor-schmoozin', boardroom-sittin', latte-sippin' Gordon went after Jeff Burton after Burton bulldozed him into the wall today at Texas. Shoved him hard in the chest, then traded a few punches with Burton for good measure before the two were separated by track workers.
Gordon gets a lot of crap from the mouth-breathers in NASCAR infields about being a pretty-boy wuss. But he was no wuss today. He was ... well, vaguely Cale-like.
And that's some high praise.
