Initial tests indicate Matt Roth's right knee injury is "not serious", the Indiana men's basketball team announced Tuesday.
The injury occurred with a little more than 14 minutes remaining in Monday's 78-65 overtime victory against Ferris State. The guard got tangled up with a player as they battled for a loose ball and suffered the injury.
The school said he is being treated and will be continually evaluated.
Roth played in just two games last year before suffering a season-ending foot injury.
"All of us in the IU basketball program, especially Matt and his family have appreciated everyone's concern for his health," IU coach Tom Crean said in a statement. "Our prayers have been definitely answered and he will return to action in due time."
