INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts said receiver Austin Collie will not play Sunday against Cincinnati.
The second-year receiver is recovering from a concussion he sustained last weekend at Philadelphia. After getting his hands on the ball, Collie turned to run and was sandwiched between two Eagles defenders.
Philadelphia’s Kurt Coleman lowered his shoulder to hit Collie and inadvertently had a helmet-to-helmet collision.
Collie lay motionless on the field for about 10 minutes. He was placed on a backboard and taken off the field on a stretcher. The Colts said Monday he was feeling fine, but they will not let him play against the Bengals.
Indianapolis also waived defensive back Deshea Townsend and running back Andre Brown.
