Before Friday's roster deadline gets here, the Mad Ants are going to have to cut two more players to get down to the 10 on the roster.
The number used to be three, but former Notre Dame guard Tory Jackson told the Mad Ants that he was leaving for personal reasons, and is no longer part of the equation.
With Chris Hunter's knee still "iffy" and the status of the 6-foot-11 center the same, my guess is that the Ants will keep a "big" around, which could be good news for Adam Zahn, the 6-8 forward from Oregon.
Zahn has shown that he can hit the open jump shot - a skill lacking in Anthony Kent, who could be the post player until Hunter returns at full strength.
Point guard Walker Russell Jr. played a little in Monday morning's practice at the Coliseum, but he is still nursing a groin injury.
My guess is that guards Corey Allmond and Anthony Goods are on the block as scoring guards. The Ants already have Rod Wilmont, Chris Kramer and Obi Muonelo.
A prediction for Sunday's season-opening starting lineup: Hunter in the middle, Kent at power forward, Darnell Lazare at the 3, Rod Wilmont at the 2 and Russell as the point.
