Indiana defeats Mississippi Valley State

Christian Watford finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, helping Indiana get past Mississippi Valley State 71-54 on Tuesday.

The Hoosiers (3-0) won for the third time in five days. For the first time in the Tom Crean era, they have won three straight games.

The Delta Devils (0-2) were led by Terrence Joyner with 15 points. D’Angelo Jackson and Falando Jones each had 10.

Mississippi Valley kept it close for a half by outhustling Indiana.

But in the second half, it was no contest.

Indiana quickly extended its 27-23 halftime lead to 35-25, and Mississippi Valley State managed only three points in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
