Verbatim: Central section leaf pickup extended; south side next

Statement issued Friday:

Fort Wayne, Ind. – For the third Saturday in a row, City Street Department crews will work to collect fallen leaves.

A heavy amount of leaves fell in the City’s central neighborhoods and that has required additional time in that area. Tomorrow the second collection of leaves in Fort Wayne’s south neighborhoods will begin.

Residents can track progress online at cityoffortwayne.org/leaves. The page is updated each afternoon and pinpoints not only the section of town crews are working in, but also the exact neighborhood. Additionally, residents can call the leaf pick-up hotline, 427-2302 to get daily updates.
