The most undersold team in the NFL struck again last night, muzzling the punchless Dolphins 16-0 in yet another efficient-but-unsexy display that left onlookers underwhelmed and saying, as ever, that they're really not all that good.
Something they might have missed while they were doing that: The Really Not All That Good Bears are now 7-3.
Something else: And they're well on their way to underwhelming their way to a division title.
My theory (and it's not just mine) as to why the Bears can't gain any traction with the people who are in charge of such things is that Bears fans themselves are ambivalent about the team. On the one hand, they're happy they're winning again. On the other hand, the more they win the longer Lovie Smith is going to be around.
So they root. But, you know, not wildly.
