Defense comes through again for Knights

Bishop Luers’ first stringers did not allow a point in the postseason until Saturday. But the defense still gave a dominating performance in Saturday’s 41-21 victory against Rensselaer Central.

The Knights went to halftime leading 28-0. Bishop Luers only gave up two first downs in the first half.

“Rensselaer forced our defense to play our backs to the wall,” senior Kenny Mullen said. “In the long run, we came through when we needed to.

“…Our defense, we like to play smash mouth.”
