Late game to determine Notre Dame's bowl destination

Notre Dame's bowl fate appears to rest in Connecticut's and South Florida's hands.

Saturday's game between the Big East foes will determine the Irish's postseason destination, according to FanHouse.

The website reported it learned that if UConn wins and clinches the Big East's BCS bowl berth, Notre Dame will play Miami in the Sun Bowl at 2 p.m. Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas. A South Florida victory will send the Irish to the Champs Sports Bowl at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 28 against an ACC opponent.

Connecticut and South Florida play at 8 p.m. Saturday. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
