Notre Dame will have its giant back in the center of the defense against Miami, and he might have a little anger stored up against the Hurricanes.
Nose guard Ian Williams will return from a knee injury that sidelined him for the last four games when the Irish play in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31.
And the 6-foot-2, 305-pound Altamonte Spring, Fla., native might pack a little extra punch after Miami turned down his request for a junior day visit.
"They said I was too small," Williams said during a Sunday teleconference.
Williams had a warning for Miami about how being turned down felt.
"They will find out," said Williams, who had 37 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss in eight games.
Williams said he feels he is back to 100 percent after practicing Saturday, but coach Brian Kelly was a little more cautious.
"He moved around quite well, so he's been cleared," Kelly said. "We'll be careful with him and make sure we have the right amount of practice leading up to the game for him."
