Notre Dame and Miami will have 15 practices before the teams play in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas.
The Irish already practiced Saturday, and coach Brian Kelly said the team will ease into a practice schedule.
"We will practice three times this next week with weight training and conditioning," Irish coach Brian Kelly said during a teleconference Sunday. "We don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves, but in between recruiting, strength training and conditioning, we should get three days in."
Miami, which fired coach Randy Shannon after the final game of the season, will start practicing Monday.
"I'm anxious to get on the field with the team," Hurricanes interim coach Jeff Stoutland said. "We are going to go (Monday) morning. … We will go Tuesday and again on Friday, some individual periods and seven-on-seven to get the timing back."
