Correct me if I'm wrong (and I know you will do so eagerly), but didn't we go through this last year?
I only hope Urban Crime doesn't change his mind again. Who in his right mind, outside of Gainesville, will believe anything the man ever says if he does?
I mean, not that I do now, or anything.
And if that sounds a trifle cynical ... well, please take into consideration how often I've heard this "I want to spend more time with my family" spiel. I'm sure Meyer, like everyone else, is absolutely sincere about it at the moment he says it. But down the road, when spring football rolls around, and he's running the kids to school in the morning instead of conducting practices ... and when he's hanging around the house bugging his wife and kids because he doesn't have anything better to do ...
All I'm saying is, Meyer is awfully young (46) to be walking away for good. And so one of two things will happen, in my experience.
His family will get sick of him and literally push him into taking another job. Or he'll do it on his own, having gotten bored out of his ever-loving skull with "spending more time with his family."
Bet the farm. That's how this winds up.
