Although the weather outside is frightful, your lunching options just became more delightful.
Two local restaurants have added lunch hours, although one is doing so only for the holidays.
Coldwater Landing, 5820 Coldwater Road, is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. The menu includes sandwiches (BLT, fish, Reuben and a Kobe burger), salads (including salmon, Southwestern chicken, tuna and Caesar) and soups. Entrées are jambalaya, crab cakes, sesame tuna, fish and chips, and chicken.
Prices are $6.95 to $12.95.

The December dinner feature is an 8-ounce teriyaki sirloin with house salad and two sides for $14.95. Dinner hours are 4:30 to 10 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays.
Eddie Merlots at Jefferson Pointe is serving lunch 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 24. For reservations, call 459-2222.
Entrées include filet mignon, winemakers steak, beef Bourguignon, Meyer lemon chicken, ahi tuna, crab cakes and scallops with pasta.
Other menu items include sushi, salads, burgers, chicken sandwiches, steak sandwich and a crab cake Po Boy.

Customer appreciation specials at Dicky’s
Starting Monday, Dickys Wild Hare, 2910 Maplecrest Road, will celebrate customer appreciation days through Dec. 24.
If you make a non-perishable food donation at the restaurant, you can get a 10 percent discount off your food bill.
There also will be a daily pizza buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. until closing. Other specials are $5.99 rib baskets and $4 microbrew pints.
Customers who buy $25 in gift certificates can get an extra $5; those who buy $75 worth can get a free Dickys T-shirt.
Purple Mountain plans fundraiser
Through Dec. 31, Purple Mountain Cheesecakes & Desserts Inc. will donate $20 from the sale of its vanilla, chocolate, lemon and turtle cheesecakes to raise money for a local family in need.
They are $38; each flavor is topped with your choice of chocolate or white-chocolate ganache.

Casa adds dishes through January
Casa Ristorante Italiano is cooking up new dishes that will be available through January.
Entrées include saccottino (Italian sausage in pasta purses covered with tomato sauce) and ravioli porcini (mushroom ravioli with gorgonzola cream sauce).
The lasagna amante carne has Italian sausage, pepperoni, prosciutto and meatballs, while the merluzzo alla Gabriella features cod baked with breadcrumbs.
Prices are $9.49 to $11.99.
Holiday treats at Waynedale Bakery
Waynedale Bakery, 2610 Lower Huntington Road, will be selling a variety of holiday items through Christmas Eve.
They include stollen bread ($3.50), peanut butter balls ($10 a pound) and gingerbread men ($8 a dozen). The bakery also has pecan pie drizzled with chocolate ganache ($9), Mexican wedding rings ($3.50 a half-pound) and mint-chip or cherry cakes for $12 and $25.

Seeking holiday hours, menus

Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, 10180 Maysville Road, has opened with a full menu and Orange Julius smoothies. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
The annual Anthis Career Center fruit sale starts Thursday at the automotive center, corner of Lewis and Lafayette streets. (Entrance is on Lewis Street). It includes boxes of clementines, grapefruit, navel oranges and apples. Prices are $8 to $30. Proceeds support career education programs. Hours will be 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday (or until all the fruit is sold).
Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwiches, 2894-B E. Dupont Road next to Willies Cozy Nook, is having a grand-opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, when it will sell some of its 8-inch subs for $1. (Limit one per customer). Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus from 5 to 8 p.m. today at The Italian Grille, 227 N. Duesenberg Drive, Auburn. The restaurant will donate 10 percent of the evenings sales to Shelter Ministries.
