Verbatim: 2 'critical' in Anthony hit-and-run crash

Written statement issued Friday morning: John Chambers, Fort Wayne Police Department Public Information Officer, released information related to the South Anthony Boulevard hit and run crash.

The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 3000 block of South Anthony Blvd in reference to personal injury accident. As officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, they located a male and female victim inside one of the vehicles. Paramedics provided medical attention to both victims before transporting them to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators on the scene received information that a male that was the driver of one of the vehicles ran from the scene after the collision. Investigators believe that one vehicle was traveling southbound on Anthony when it began to slide on the slick roadway as it crossed the center lane colliding with a vehicle traveling northbound on Anthony.

This accident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne/Allen County F.A.C.T. team and the Allen County Prosecutors office. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department Hit and Run Division at 427-1373.
