... and I am shocked, shocked, along with all the rest of you. Actually, of course, you'd have to have been a complete dolt not to vote for Newton, so clearly was he the best player in the country. Or you would have had to be a member of the Football Writers Association of America, who, in as fine a display of sanctimonious hotdogging as the Blob has seen in these parts for awhile, left Newton off their All-American team, presumably because of all the questions swirling around him and his dad up hitting various schools for cash. As I've said before, if this is true, it just means Cam and his father simply played the same game the universities play all the time with the BCS, created solely and purposely to enable the big conferences to corner the market on bowl money. The only difference is, the Newtons might have been a little less disingenuous about it. So, yes, if I'd had a Heisman vote, I'd have cast it for Newton. As for the sanctimonious Oscar Mayers of the FWAA ... they now look even more foolish than ever.
