When Antonio Wilson went down with an ankle injury in Week 2 against Blackhawk Christian, North Side coach Shabaz Khaliq said his senior center could miss up to 6-7 weeks.
That timeframe was whittled down to two weeks, and as it turns out, Wilson missed only one game – a 57-55 win over DeKalb.
"(Antonio) came back way quicker," Khaliq said. "When I said six weeks, I was dead serious because it looked bad. He had a good work ethic in the training room, and the trainer worked with him and got him back quicker than we expected.
"He is still not at 100 percent. In practice, he will get a dunk and just not get that elevation and won't pound the ball and he is frustrated."
In a 77-66 win over defending SAC regular-season champion Harding on Friday, the 6-foot-8 Wilson had 15 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.
He had three dunks and misfired on two others.
