Keys to the game

Indiana improved to 8-2 with an 88-54 win against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Here are some of the highlights.

Key number: 24. Indiana opened the game with a 24-0 run. The Hoosiers made 9 of their first 11 shots while SIU-Edwardsville went 0 for 11 during the stretch. The Cougars first point came on a free throw with 11:06 remaining in the first half.

That's a fact: Indiana shot 68 percent from the field in the first half. That's the second-highest total in the Tom Crean era. The Hoosiers shot 70.4 percent in the first half of a Nov. 26, 2008 game against Chaminade.

"This is a learning experience for us. We came out with the 11-0 run and in the timeout we were saying don't let up, don't give up. We came out and got 13 more points before they even scored a basket."
