Mad Antics

  • Mad Ants tough start continues
The Mad Ants’ defense of their D-League championship has gotten off to a rough start. A 99-87 loss Friday at Erie, Pennsylvania, dropped them to 0-3 on the season.
  • Porter out tonight at Erie
Mad Ants captain Chris Porter is out of the lineup tonight at Erie, Pennsylvania, with an elbow injury. Titus Rubles will take his place on the active roster.
  • 2 NBA players for Mad Ants
The Mad Ants' 13 affiliations with NBA teams began to pay off today, as they were assigned forward Adreian Payne by the Atlanta Hawks and guard Glen Rice Jr. by the Washington Wizards.

No Kramer, yet

The knee sprain suffered by Chris Kramer on Dec. 4 that was supposed to keep the Huntington native out of the lineup for two to three weeks apparently still hasn't healed, because Kramer remains in street clothes for Tuesday's home game with Iowa.

Head coach Joey Meyer still isn't sure when Kramer will be back.

What he is sure is that center Chris Hunter is out for the season with an Achilles tear. Asked if he'll try to find a bigger player to take Hunter's place, and Meyer said he wouldn't, and that 6-foot-5 Obi Muonelo would serve as a small forward.

I'll check back at the half.
