Rudolph to leave Irish, report says

Notre Dame tight end Kyle Rudolph appears to be headed for the NFL.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder will declare for the draft and has selected an agent, according to IrishIllustrated.com.

Rudolph didn't play in the final seven games this season after suffering a hamstring injury, but he was still the Irish's third-leading receiver with 28 catches for 328 yards and three touchdowns.

Rudolph, who has 90 career catches for 1,032 yards with eight touchdowns, will be replaced by former Bishop Dwenger standout Tyler Eifert, who started the last seven games this season.

The Irish also have Mike Ragone, if he is granted another year at the university, Alex Welch and Jake Golic at tight end. Notre Dame also as an oral commitment from tight end Ben Koyack.
