  • A goalie guess; look at lines
Roman Will would seem to be the most likely fit to wind up in the ECHL as a goalie, but he's spent the last two seasons in the Czech Republic after an impressive junior career in Moncton. If I had to guess, it would be him.
  • K's sign 2 forwards
The Komets finalized the signing of forward Thomas Frazee, who had 24 goals and 47 points in 60 games last season for Quad City of the CHL, and also announced that they have added forward Brett Beebe to the roster.
  • Looks almost official
Center Thomas Frazee posted on his twitter account he will play for the Komets this season.

Chaulk named captain

Komets coach Al Sims addressed the team today, informing them that he has made center Colin Chaulk the team captain.

Chaulk will make his season debut with the team Friday against the Evansville IceMen at Memorial Coliseum.

Chaulk, who turns 34 on Friday, spent the first half of the season with HC Alleghe in Italy. He guided the Komets to four championships between 2003 and 2010, earning team MVP honors four times.

Defenseman Guy Dupuis was stripped of the captaincy last month.

The Komets have also signed defenseman Dustin Molle, who played 18 games with Idaho of the ECHL the last two seasons. He takes the place of defenseman Brandon Warner, on 30-day injured reserve with a separated shoulder.
