Here's what I do, if I'm Michigan athletic director David Brandon: I pick up and phone and dial the San Diego area code. And I ask to speak to Brady Hoke.
Forget Jim Harbaugh, who's not coming to Michigan and is merely stringing the school along. Forget Les Miles, too; he's already in a better situation than Michigan can offer.
Hoke's the guy you want to hire.
He's the guy you want to hire because, No. 1, he's coached at the school before, and No. 2, he wants to be in Ann Arbor. And has made that public.
Don't think he's high-profile enough? To hell with that. Hoke put Ball State on the football map, despite getting zero support from his administration. Then he went to San Diego State, took a program that had won two games the season before he came and turned it into a bowl winner in two years.
He's your man. Drop the dime.
