  • Komets affiliate with Avs, Lake Erie
The Komets have aligned with the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and their American Hockey League team, the Lake Erie Monsters.
  • This is sad news
Former Komets star Joe Kastelic, who once owned the record for most goals scored in the IHL, died Wednesday at 81. He skated for the Komets from 1953 to 1957 and then again in 1960-61.
  • Major signings for Komets
The Komets bolstered their roster with a potential No. 1 goaltender, a former first-round NHL draft pick, a familiar face and player who should be popular with the fans.

A little bit of pressure?

In case you missed today's column on the subject of his return, and what it could mean historically, click here.

I don't know that I can equate this event to much, except when Steve Fletcher came out of retirement for one game, and wound up dropping the gloves to fight, and when Chaulk returned from his MRSA staph infection in 2008-09.

  • As if tonight won't be interesting enough, the Saturday game at Dayton could have some fireworks, too. Click here. (I got quoted? Without being quoted?) Normally, though, these types of incidents don't amount to much.
  • This is absolutely amazing.
