Mad Antics

  • Several Mad Ants stars to Europe
Everyone knew the Mad Ants roster would look different, even in the wake of the team's first D-League championship.
  • Tryout information
The Mad Ants will hold an open tryout from 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Quest Multisport Complex in Chicago.
  • Howard not sure on return to Mad Ants this season
Howard has had some interest from NBA teams – that's nothing new, though Howard has never made a regular-season roster – and is again fielding offers from teams in Europe.

Not bad, considering

Considering that the Mad Ants had a 5 a.m. wake-up call and got back into Fort Wayne a little past noon today, their 62-54 halftime lead over Sioux Falls is fairly impressive.

The game isn't as sloppy as you'd think for a team that is short on sleep and long on travel. Walker Russell Jr. has five of the Ants' 13 assists, compared to the team's 7 turnovers.

At the half, Marvin Phillips and Anthony Kent have 15 points each, and Russell has 10.

It's also the reuniting of former Purdue teammates Chris Kramer (Ants) and Keaton Grant (Skyforce). Kramer has three points, and Grant has two.
