Beachem makes Purdue visit

Harding sophomore V.J. Beachem took in the Iowa-Purdue men's basketball game on an unofficial visit Sunday. And he liked what he saw, including the Boilermakers' 75-52 win over the Hawkeyes.

"Enjoyed myself," Beachem said in a text message. "I always have a great time when I visit."

But Beachem isn't in any hurry to make a college choice.

"No commitment; at 15 that's a big decision, no need to hurry," he wrote.

If Beachem does end up choosing the Boilermakers, he would make another Fort Wayne recruit who chose Purdue, after South Side junior Rapheal Davis and Northrop sophomore Bryson Scott.

North Side senior Antonio Wilson is reportedly headed to junior college and then maybe to Purdue.
