Hoosiers lack punch in loss

One team wanted it. The other team was Indiana.

The Hoosiers suffered their sixth consecutive loss, falling to Northwestern 93-81.

IU didn’t come out with energy, and the result was another Big Ten loss.

When asked about Christian Watford’s slow start – he scored all 17 points in the second half – IU coach Tom Crean said, “He didn’t play hard enough. It’s an energy game. You have to play with extreme energy. These guys aren’t going away.”

When asked about the inability to defend the Wildcats’ inside player Luka Mirkovic (20 points, 12 rebounds), Crean said, “He just out-toughed us inside, that’s the bottom line.”

IU players, through the team’s media relations, were not made available for interviews after the game.
