IU pregame against Northwestern

Indiana enters tonight’s game at Northwestern with a five-game losing streak.

This contest will come down to how well IU defends the Wildcats’ “Princeton-style” offense. Northwestern’s top scorer, John Shurna, has been banged up as of late. He still is second in the Big Ten in scoring.

IU coach Tom Crean pointed out that the Wildcats are also a threat from outside. Northwestern attempted 38 three-pointers in Thursday’s loss to Illinois.

The Wildcats also come in on a cold streak. Northwestern has lost four out of five. The Wildcats are last in the Big Ten in field goal percentage.

This sounds obvious, but it is true, whichever team puts up the better effort defensively will win.
