No. 11 Purdue looks for its 10th consecutive victory today against Iowa.
Some things to watch:
- Well, there won't be a John Hart watch. He's in street clothes today. Matt Painter said this week that if Hart was able to participate in full contact stuff in practice that there was a chance Hart would play. But that must not have happened. In the practice I was at on Friday, Hart didn't do much. Hart hasn't played since Dec. 4. He's missed seven games since having foot surgery.
- Will Lewis Jackson make a jumper? Jackson snapped out of a season-long slump by making three jump shots against Penn State and scored a career-high 17 points in that game. Can he keep his rhythm going?
- Speaking of rhythm, Ryne Smith has made seven consecutive three-pointers. When he's hot, Purdue's offense usually is, too.
- How will Iowa freshman Melsahn Basabe play? He's coming off a solid effort against Ohio State and its big man J.J. Sullinger. But will Basabe defend JaJuan Johnson? It's a good bet that challenge will go to Iowa's 250-pound Jarryd Cole.
