Francis gets call

Forward Chris Francis, who has four goals and 17 points in 28 games with the Komets, was called up by the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets and assigned to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

Francis began the season with the Falcons, tallying one goal and two points in four games.

This is kind of a bad news/good news situation for the Komets.

The bad news is that they have been rolling, with a 7-1-4 record in their last 12 games, despite having a plethora of stars (Mathieu Curadeau, Leo Thomas, Sean O'Connor, Brandon Warner) out of the lineup.

The good news is some of these guys would be coming back this week and tough decisions were on the horizon. The call-up of Francis makes it a little easier.
