Blue Jackets sending help

The NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned forward Chris Francis to the Komets, and they are sending left wing Michael Ratchuk, too.

Francis, who has four goals and 17 points in 28 games with the Komets, was a healthy scratch in three games after being called up to Springfield, Mass., the Blue Jackets' top minor-league affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Ratchuk, a second-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2006, has spent the last four seasons in the AHL. He had one goal in 15 games this season with Springfield.

He was a teammate of current Komets defenseman Brandon Warner at Michigan State.
