Indiana junior guard Verdell Jones III did not participate in pregame drills for today's game with Illinois. He watched in sweats as the Hoosiers went through drills.
With or without Jones, who missed Sunday's game with Iowa because of inflammation in the right knee, the Hoosiers are in for a tough test.
Illinois, ranked No. 20 nationally, has size in Mike Tisdale, Bill Cole and Mike Davis. It has quickness in guards Demetri McCamey and D.J. Richardson. And it has depth in Brandon Paule and freshman Jereme Richmond.
Indiana coach Tom Crean has stressed converting on open shots. He's liked the looks the Hoosiers have got at the basket in recent weeks. But the shots aren't falling, as was evident in Sunday's 37.1 shooting percentage in a 91-77 loss at Iowa.
