Isn't it kind of funny how no Fort Wayne girls basketball coaches were on the telecast for the sectional draw Sunday?
Especially considering the Summit City has two defending state champions in Canterbury (Class A) and Concordia (3A) and a 2010 state runner-up in Bishop Luers (2A).
And not to mention the fact that Fort Wayne will play host to the state finals March 5, for a second straight year.
Now I don't know if any Fort Wayne (or northeast Indiana) coaches were asked to drive to Indianapolis for the tournament draw, done by the IHSAA, and just couldn't make it.
But it seems kind of interesting to not have representation from what has really become the unofficial home of girls basketball the last few years.
There wasn't even much of a mention of Fort Wayne teams besides mentioning the defending state champion. Norwell also got some mention, but what about an appearance by Knights coach Eric Thornton?
There was some grainy footage of some of the teams from the Fort, but there could have been more.
Just interesting, that's all.
