I seriously love this book.

Knitting Rules!

I love lists of stuff. Her lists are some of the funniest out there.

My, um, close attention to Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's blog means that I know she was tickled pink that the photo shoot for the cover of this book required a "yarn wrangler."

The scarf rescue hat - the most ingenious way to worm your way out of knitting 6 feet of garter stitch.

I regularly prescribe reading the Yarn Harlot to my friends and family. I don't know if they all appreciate it.

Even her chapter titles are awesome.

Once again, this is an author who writes a daily blog, but still manages to come up with original and fun content for a book. Just amazing.

The graphic that goes with this is priceless. You could buy the book just for the pleasure of owning that graphic.

I think a big part of my attraction to her writing is that she's so down-to-earth, but also good at explaining big ideas about knitting and life. The book, like all of her books, is about knitting, sure, but it's also about way of looking at the world.

In other words, it's part knitting book, part memoir, part manifesto, and all wonderful.
